Cyberpunk 2077 game publisher CD Projekt Red announces on Twitter that the game’s launch has been postponed again for 21 days. The developers explain that they need more time to test the 9 versions of the game for the different consoles, platforms and operating systems.
CD Projekt Red has just announced sad news to those who are impatiently awaiting the release of Cyberpunk 2077. The game is again postponed by 21 days: “You probably have a lot of emotions and questions for us, so first of all, please accept our humble apologies. The biggest challenge ahead of us is to deliver the game on current-gen, next-gen and PC platforms simultaneously, which requires us to prepare and test 9 versions of the game (Xbox One / X, compatibility on Xbox Series S \ X , PS4 Pro, compatibility on PS5, PC and Stadia), all by teleworking “, explains the studio.
And continued: “We need to be sure that everything is running smoothly and that each version launches without a hitch even as Cyberpunk has evolved into something almost worthy of a next-gen title. We are aware that to say that 21 days can make any difference may seem unrealistic for such a large and complex game but it is.”

“Some of you are also probably wondering what those words mean as we reached the golden master stage some time ago. Passing the certification means the game is ready, can be completed, and has all content included. This does not mean, however, that we have stopped working and that we are no longer continuing our efforts to further increase the quality of the title.”
“Quite the contrary, we are taking this time to make many improvements that will be deployed during a D0 patch . But we had miscalculated the time needed . We have the feeling that we have an incredible game in our hands and we are ready to make all the decisions, even the hardest ones, if that can ultimately lead to you delivering a game that you will fall in love with ”, concludes CD Projekt. Red.
The release of Cyberpunk 2077 had already been postponed for the first time to November 19, 2020 during the month of June.
