As rumored for months, Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy ON5 and ON7. Two mid-range smartphones currently only for the Chinese market.
Samsung just unveiled two new smartphones in China, the Galaxy ON5 and ON7. These are not really unfamiliar smartphones since we are talking in recent months as the unofficial replacement of Galaxy Grand and Galaxy Mega.
Rumors are confirmed if one believes the technical data and the first pictures of the devices on the Chinese official website of Samsung. It is expected that the Galaxy ON5 and ON7 share the same components, namely a Super AMOLED display 5 inches for ON5 and 5.5 inches for ON7, Exynos 3475 SoC, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory and 3000 mAh batter. Rear camera is 13 megapixel (f/2.1) and front is 5 megapixel (f/2.2).
No surprise in design, these phones entirely made of plastic compounds. The back is made of faux leather and they are not particularly fine (Galaxy ON7 dimensions are 151.8 × 77.5 × 8.2 mm) nor particularly light (ON7 weighs 172 grams). Naturally, the traditional central physical button is present on the facade.
Samsung has not disclosed the price of these devices. For now, only the Galaxy ON7 is available on the Chinese website of Samsung, but without specific release date. However, it is expected that these two phones will be sold outside the Chinese territory later in this year.
