According to media reports, Sony is about to roll out Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on Xperia Z Series and on its variants, the very first smartphones in the premium range manufacturer.
While the Japanese firm unveiled its Xperia Z5 (Both Compact and Premium versions) on the occasion of the IFA, it does not give up on its older models. Here is good news for Xperia Z Users, With a little delay, now finally Sony is preparing for the roll out of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version for their very first premium smartphone line i.e Sony Xperia Z (C6602 and C6603), Xperia ZR (C5503), Xperia ZL (C6503 and C6506) and on Xperia Z Tablets WiFi (SGP311 and SGP312) and Xperia Z Tablet 4G (SGP321).
Today Xperia Blog reported that they gleaned information from one of their contacts, and they even got the build number 10.7.A.0.222 attached to this new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version. This announcement is however somewhat surprising, especially since it does not seem to concern the Xperia Z1 and its variants, which also desperately awaits the patch. In any case, it should be a matter of days before the upgrade begins to roll out only in the relevant smartphones.
